Background

The Exituri, the ruling theocracy of the Silver Hawks world Shiloh, have been experiencing domestic unrest. This is ordinarily not a problem for the Silver Hawks Coalition or federal authorities; however, at least one group has gained access to heavy units, including BattleMechs, that local authorities have no ability to deal with. SAFE believes they are being supplied, and possibly trained, by the Federated Commonwealth, and so dealing with them falls within the purview of the Silver Hawks, and the Exituri have requested assistance. Local authorities have located the town the resistance force is operating out of.

SAFE estimates guerrilla force strength at one lance of light BattleMechs supported by a company of medium to heavy armor and some quantity of irregular infantry.

Shiloh is a heavy-G world (1.11g). Movement speeds and effectiveness of ballistic and missile weapons will be reduced.

You are to take 3rd Battalion to Shiloh and root out and destroy the guerrillas. Land in the restricted spaceport city Kandahar to refuel, resupply, and take on an Exituri observer. Exituri technological restrictions forbid you from moving BattleMechs through or out of the city, so local authorities have designated a landing zone in an unpopulated area near the target town. You are not to land anywhere on Shiloh other than Kandahar and the designated landing zone, and you may not move units except between the landing zone and the target town, and as necessary to pursue and destroy any hostile units that might attempt to escape. You are not to make any unnecessary contact with locals. A representative of the Exituri will accompany you to ensure these restrictions are not violated.

Your objectives are:

You will have a Cheetah air lance from the Callison Defenders attached for reconnaissance purposes. You are not to use them to conduct strafing or bombing runs against targets within the town, as this is likely to cause excessive damage to the town.

Due to Shiloh's high gravity, the Phoenix Hawk's movement is reduced to 5/8/5, and it must make a Piloting Skill check when it jumps or take 1 point of internal structure damage to each leg. The Cicada and Locusts are reduced to 7/11/0. Movement is not affected for other 3rd Battalion units.

Falling damage, building collapse damage, and Death From Above damage (to both attacker and defender) are multiplied by 1.11 before rounding.

Unit tonnages are multiplied by 1.11 for purposes of determining if buildings will support load. For example, a 20-ton 'mech would collapse a building with CF less than 23 (20 × 1.11 = 22.2).

Ballistic and missile weapon ranges are reduced by a factor of 1.11, starting with the Long range band, as such:

Shiloh has very little in the way of surface water or paved roads. Any water hex marked on the map is dry, with Sublevel equal to the marked water Depth. Any pavement hex marked on the map is dirt road, which provides road movement bonus to infantry and Tracked and Hover (but not Wheeled) vehicles, but does not force skid checks when turning at Running/Flank speed. (Hovercraft must still make sideslip checks normally.)
