Overview:
The F-110 Riever is the Confederation's advanced technology upgrade of the Free World League's standard heavy fighter, the F-100 Riever, which was acquired with the defection of Andurien to the Confederation. The F-110 was designed primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-dropship missions. Its low maneuverability and lack of energy weapons limit its ground attack capabilities.

Capabilities:
The Riever is one of the most technologically advanced aircraft currently being manufactured, despite the fact that its frame, armor, and engine are standard F-100 components. The area where the F-110 really excels is in its weaponry.

The four Hovertec SRM racks and the Mydron autocannon are beyond top-of-the-line, relying on recent Confederate advances that extrapolate from the SRM 2 Streaks and LB 10-Xs only now beginning production in the other Successor States. In fact, these weapons are still considered experimental by the CAF R&D Division. It is planned that as R&D develops improvements for the weaponry, the improvements will be incorporated into the active fighters as field modifications. Even the standard F-100's Gamma-10 LRM rack has been upgraded, with the addition of an Artemis IV system to guide its missiles.

The heat generated by all of these improved weapons systems is dissipated by new double-strength heat sinks, making it practically impossible to overheat the fighter. The mass saved by the conversion to double heat sinks allowed the addition of four tons of armor plating.

All of these improvements make the F-110 Riever an excellent candidate for anti-dropship missions. The Mydron Obliterator Excel offers the pilot the choice of standard rounds, which provide concentrated firepower to penetrate a dropship's heavy armor, or Cluster rounds, which improve the chances of hitting vital components such as the bridge. The new Riever's heavier armor enables it to withstand the dropships's inevitable return fire.

The main problem with the F-110 is that the standard Riever targeting system is produced only at the Marik-held factories on Irian. Substitutes have proved unacceptable, so when the supplies already at Andurien AeroTech run out, the Confederation may have to launch a raid against the Irian factories for more.
