CIV 104

The CIV 104 is the bread and butter of the relatively small CI Vehicles division. Over 90% of the vehicles that come out of their Springfield, Vermont plant are 104s. Though the 104 lacks the style, not to mention the sheer rubber-scorching power, of CIV's flagship Thunderbolt muscle car, it is designed along much the same lines, and makes a practical and versatile vehicle. The 104 was designed big and roomy, with a heavy chassis and powerful engine capable of serious load-hauling. The big engine also makes the 104 deceptively fast. The 104 is available in three body styles: the standard four-door sedan, a station wagon, and an odd bastardized hybrid of a pickup and a coupe. All are built on the same frame and engine options, though the pickup version is more heavily sprung and uses a slower, torquier transmission. All three models are available with either the standard 4.4 liter V8 or an electric fuel cell that sacrifices high-end speed for low-end pulling power. Most EFC 104s purchased are wagons - the pickup's odd styling hasn't made it popular, in either gas-burner or fuel cell, and the sedans have less need for the load-hauling power it provides, though some environmentally conscious drivers do get them for their relative cleanliness.
